Tokyo Summer Olympics Will Be Postponed Due To Coronavirus

The Tokyo Summer Olympics are being postponed until next year, the International Olympic Committee said Tuesday. Here, a person in Tokyo takes a photo of a clock counting down the days until the planned start of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games.

The Tokyo Summer Olympics will not begin in late July and will be held "by the summer of 2021," Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced Tuesday.
