Just of recent LG K7i, was launched by the South Korean firm at the India Mobile Congress this week, The LG K7i is equipped with a new technology that it says will keep mosquitoes away. the LG K7i emits ultrasonic waves from a mesh grid on the back of the smartphone. The ultrasonic waves would have the ability to repel the pests and at the same time will be "absolutely safe and harmless for human kind," the company said.



However, some other LG products already existing such as air conditioners and TVs are already available with the new " mosquito-away " technology. Nevertheless, presently ther are also smartphone applications that claim the use of the similar mosquito-away technology with similar results, but LG rightly says this is the first time that this mosquito-away technology has been embedded in a smartphone through out history. The LG K7i Android phone has a price of ($122) i.e about N44000.00 . LG also rightly says it is considering plans to roll it out in other countries very soon.



In Africa and Asia, some of the part of the continents has long struggled with deadly diseases like Malaria and Dengue that spread easily through mosquitoes, with tens of thousands of reported cases and hundreds of deaths recorded by the government every year. LG has set a benchmark for ensuring the health of its consumers worldwide. Some scientists have questioned the effectiveness of the newly discovered ultrasonic mosquito repellents. Morealso, the American Mosquito Control Association says at least 10 studies in the past 15 years have " unanimously denounced " them, " the fact is that these devices just do not work, " the association says.



Nevertheless, LG said it conducted multiple tests of the ultrasonic mosquito repellents technology that were certified by India's International Institute of Biotechnology and Toxicology, adding that the LG K7i repelled on average 72% of disease-spreading mosquitoes. Indians totally spent $733 million last year only on home insecticides, according to a recent study by Euromonitor International.
