TO THE HEART THAT FEELS HEAVY TODAY: A Poem By Mfon Ekott

TO THE HEART THAT FEELS HEAVY TODAY: A Poem By Mfon Ekott
TO THE HEART THAT FEELS HEAVY TODAY: A Poem By Mfon Ekott

The feelings, they wrap you up
The heartaches, the solitudeSlowly, your joy is drowned
Deep in the murky waters of pain.
You feign open smiles, pour out secret tears
Fake laughs, silent screams
The muffled moans and voiceless groans
Make your eyes bleed in tiny puddles.
Oh, the world! They don't care
If they try, they give up too quickly
Carelessly, they leave you hanging
And without balance, you fall with a thud.
Your back on the floor, pain in your body
You look around, no one to help
The sky is high, the earth is near
To end it all, you sometimes feel.
Good news, my dear, I bring
The dark clouds, are lined with silver
Cry, if you may, lighten your heart
But the hope, alive, you must keep it.
For one thing, without doubt, is certain
At the tunnel's end, your light will come
Again, you will glow, and burn anew
Standing tall, and your head up high.
Just believe, and do not doubt
Your tomorrow, is even brighter!!!

PS: Dedicated to all my friends going through hard times.

THE RELATIONSHIP I NEVER HAD.

THE RELATIONSHIP I NEVER HAD.
THE RELATIONSHIP I NEVER HAD.
I stepped into the cab to go to a meeting for which I was almost late. A lady I met in there looked strikingly familiar but I couldn't place the face. I greeted her as I settled in the cab.

When I got to my destination, I alighted, and to my surprise, she also did. I suspected she was going to the same meeting as I, but I didn't want to bug her with questions, so I let her be. With both of us walking down the same street, I took a turn to where the meeting was supposed to hold and she walked on.

Surprisingly, I found no one at the place when I arrived. I began to wonder if I was too early for the meeting. I decided to wait, with the consolation that people will come later. Two long hours went by, yet, no one showed up, and quite unfortunately, the convener's number didn't go through. I concluded the meeting was cancelled, but I decided to wait for one more hour, hoping to go back home if no one came around.

Luckily, the convener's number finally went through as I kept trying. I explained my plight to him and he told me that the venue was changed (but I was unaware), and it was few blocks away. He sent someone to pick me. When I arrived at the new venue, the house was full and I was about two hours behind time. To my shock, I found the same lady I alighted with in the meeting, she was equally surprised to see me. That was when I remembered that I'd seen her before at that same place.

She explained to everyone that we came together but we both never knew we were headed the same direction. I was saved from being fined for lateness. I learnt a big lesson that day. "When people walk away from you, let them walk, your destiny is not tied to anyone that left..."

See that phrase above, be careful with it. Inasmuch as it is not wrong, there is an untold truth underneath it. Your destiny is related, if not tied, to some people. Read me!

It is not everyone who wants to walk away that you should let go, try to protect some relationships, you can never make it alone.

  • There are people you must connect with in order to get to your destination.
  • There are relationships you must build, and do your best to keep in order to get to that place you so desire.
  • There are dreams you will never fulfill until you connect with the right people and build a relationship.
  • There are heights that only relationship with certain people will help you to attain, no matter how skilled, talented or gifted you are.
  • There are shoulders you must stand on to grow tall and see the tomorrow you long for. It won't come from afar, but by the relationships you build.

Imagine having a mentor, a model, or a person you look up to, who is harsh with words and is hard to please, but their hardness is what is needed to push you to achievement and excellence, but you hate how they go about it..

Dear, it will be unwise to walk away because you don't like their method. This is my message from my little experience a few days ago, you are free to let it slide, it's not compulsory to take it.

I stalled for two long hours because of 'the relationship I never had'. I ignored my instincts to connect with the person who could have helped me.

It could be God, family, mentor, boss, lover, friend or anyone. Just identify and connect with the right people and watch the journey get easier and the destination draw closer.

How To Find Buyers For Your Info Products.

How To Find Buyers For Your Info Products.
How To Find Buyers For Your Info Products.
How do you find the people that will buy your info products? Is a big question most digital marketers ask. Below I will be giving you the tips on this.

As an information marketer, finding the people that will buy your info products is the first action to take before writing a word. You must find out and know the target people for your info products.

There are three (3) main strategies to find out the people that will buy your info products. They are;

  1. The first is by asking them.
  2. The second is listening to the conversations that goes on around them.
  3. The third is observing what they do by spying on them.

How Do You Achieve Each Of These Strategies?

  • Firstly, to be able to ask from people what they need, you will have to develop a questionnaire and can also place a classified advert in widely read newspapers of your target customers.
  • Secondly, you can listen to the conversations that goes on around your target customers at social gatherings, where people do gather and discuss. You can also give a good ear to their conversations and you will get idea of what people are passing through and thereby position yourself to finding solutions to them. Also, you can monitor the programmes that are packaged in the media and listen to the news of current happenings around you. Likewise, you can participate in active forums and news group where people of similar interests and mindset gather and discuss on the same topic.
  • Thirdly, you can spy on your target customers and observe what they do using Google as a spying source and tools on the Internet to discover the trends of things in the ever changing world.

However, our action for Day 15 of our 21 Days Revolution We Need Now campaign is to find out the needs of your customers.

How are you going to do it?

Let's meet at the comments session.

OUR FIRST NIGHT

OUR FIRST NIGHT
OUR FIRST NIGHT
At first, we were never in love, there was nothing like love at first sight for us. We always met each other in school, but I had no interest in becoming intimate.

On that fateful night of our intimacy, we returned together from a friend's house where I went for a birthday party. We got home a bit late and had to sneak stealthily into my room in the dead of the night, with me leading the way. The thick darkness in the house caused me to slowly rummage my hand on the dusty wall, as power had been interrupted earlier. I was careful not to make a sound, to avoid being heard or seen (bad child).

I successfully made it into my room and managed to locate the matches to light the candle and was able to find my way around. I quickly had a cold shower to relieve myself, changed into my pink lacy and sleeveless lingerie and felt breathtakingly comfy and refreshed. I sprayed my flower-scented cologne, and got all set to do it. The mere sight of the yellow but mild flame emitting from the candle was enough to turn on all the senses in my head to get to the business for the night. 😍

My darling was patiently waiting on my well-laid bed to have me. Just then, power was restored. "Thank heavens." I said as I rushed to turn on the fan. It blew hot air on us at first, then it became normal. I switched off the fluorescent light and turned on the lamp by the bed, and seductively laid myself down with high hopes. With the light from the lamp, I could see clearly, so I slowly moved my hand and pulled up the covering. The sight was damn appealing. I loved what I saw.

Dear me! I couldn't wait. "Ah! This is lovely." I exclaimed in excitement. And wow, It happened. Right on my silky sheets, I had an intercourse, a mind changing experience. I was only able to sleep at 3am after I finished. I'm yet to find the right words to describe the ecstatic feeling that Bertha M. Clay rocked my mind with that night. Yes, I had an intellectual 'intercourse' with a best selling author, Bertha M. Clay, via her book, 'Beyond Pardon'.

It was the first time ever I had to read for fun, not because I wanted to write an exam, a night I will never forget. I decided to read it after so much praises from my friend who was a book addict, and yes, I wasn't disappointed. The book was excellent! It ignited my craving for books, and it paid off since then. I was a good student in secondary school, but I unintentionally had a very slippery relationship with books outside the school environment. I didn't like reading non-academic books, only recommended textbooks mattered to me.

Books were for school, study was for exams, so I was brainwashed, but that night made a difference and redefined my flawed understanding of books. I was in JSS 2. Many children/adults are presently experiencing this fallacious satirical shaft, but you and I can help reconstruct their mindset by teaching and encouraging them to read. There is more knowledge in books than there is in schools. Books educate more than schools.

Don't forget to read, make it a habit.

Bonjour!

PAINS OF A BROKEN SOUL: A True Life Story By Mfon Ekott.

PAINS OF A BROKEN SOUL: A True Life Story By Mfon Ekott.
PAINS OF A BROKEN SOUL: A True Life Story By Mfon Ekott.
A lot of people find me attractive, beautiful and homely. Many sing my eulogy and laud my comeliness, but they know so little about my other side, the inner pains.

I lost my virginity at a tender age, at the molestation of the strange man who visited my house. My sweet innocence was lost violently at the early stage of my infancy. He came as a friend, I opened my arms to him but he raped and wrecked me, then walked away freely, still a free man today.

Behind the beauty of my appearance, lies a broken soul that bleeds through my eyes. I have been sold, back stabbed, and cheated by many men. No one to protect me, no one to defend me. Those who deeply cared for me died trying to protect me, and since then, I have not found true love again.

Forget my beauty, it does not count. I can't even rub shoulders with my mates, they are far ahead of me and they mock me at every little chance, but there is no one to speak for me. I cry daily for my lost virginity, and struggle hard to regain my health and beauty, but even my very own do not care whether I live or die. They contribute to my ruin.

Each time I try to heal, I helplessly fall in the hands of hungry men with sugarcoated words who suck me dry and leave me worse than I ever was.

Will I ever heal, or get back on my heels?

The only thing I have now is hope, I won't lose it.
I am weak, I need your protection.
I am wounded, I need quick healing.
I wish to rise again, I need your help.
I want to stand again, I need your support.
I shall rise again, I pray.
I will glow again, I hope.
I am NIGERIA 🇳🇬, and this is my heart's cry to my citizens‼️
I will cross many waters, visit many lands, but NIGERIA remains my home, I will always return.

Dear friends, let's not give up the hope of a better NIGERIA, it shall rise again.

Writers: Why Do You Copy Without Giving Credits To Authors.

Writers: Why Do You Copy Without Giving Credits To Authors.
Writers: Why Do You Copy Without Giving Credits To Authors.

Writers, How do you feel when you see that your work has been plagiarized?

Last week, I clicked on one of my hashtags, #MfonWrites, and it led me to a blog where my article was published without my consent. Surprised, I decided to click on another hashtag I usually attach to my posts, #MyPenMyThoughts, it led me to a Facebook page where two of my articles were published, still without my consent.

On the blog, my picture that was attached to the post was removed. My name at the end of the post was also removed and replaced with that of the blogger. The #WednesdayWisdomCapsule was replaced with #ThursdayWisdomCapsule, but the person forgot to remove #MfonWrites, which was what enabled to trace the post. The article generated traffic, comments, and accolades to the blogger, some even requested him to teach them how to write with such wisdom and he promised to teach them for a particular amount.

On the facebook page, my picture which was attached to the post was replaced with that of a man, my name was taken off and replaced with that of the owner of the page, #MfonWrites was also removed, but #MyPenMyThoughts remained. The post garnered about 870 likes, 420 comments and 148 shares. I was angry and pained at the same time. I took screenshots for evidence, messaged them to take down my work in one hour's time or risk tarnishing the image of their brand.

Their nemesis was brewing already in my pot, but they were smart enough to escape it. They both refused to reply to my message or apologize, but quietly complied. I was sure to monitor their blog/page, that was how I knew when the articles were taken down.

Their case is not the first/only experience I've had ever since I began writing. Last year, a lady on Facebook did something similar. When I approached her via inbox, she asked if I'm the first to write that "somebody will not hear word", then she blocked me. I opened another account, added her on my list, reported the post, and it was taken down. I blocked her and deleted the account.

Even my quotes are taken without consent or acknowledgement. I worry less about quotes, but articles? I will go extra miles. Things like this have made me grow weary sharing some things here in recent times. I still have the screenshots, but won't attach them here.

Dear friends, If you have the habit of stealing people's intellectual property without due consent or proper acknowledgement of the owner, refrain from it. Even the law is against plagiarism and piracy. You can share a post, but when you copy, don't ever forget to acknowledge the owner, EXCEPT in the case where you sincerely do not know the owner.

  • Don't flaunt people's brain work as yours.
  • Don't promote your brand with stolen contents.
  • Don't receive commendations for a written work you have no idea how it came about.Don't sell people's work without their due consent or approval.
  • Don't rob another the chance of being recognized and profiting from their skill.
  • #Copied is not the name of a person, don't use it to replace the writer's name.
  • Acknowledge the writer properly if you copy.
  • If you have to publish another's work on your site/page, respectfully seek permission from the writer before proceeding.
  • Always refer others to the owner of your copied work when and where necessary.
Writing is not so easy, respect the hard work, at least. Some writers will not give you time to take it down, you will be dragged down the moment you're caught. You will only appear cheap and senseless before those who once held you in high regard.

Don't be unfortunate and don't stain your image/brand.

Cheers!

How To Train Your Child: 7 Non-Corporal Punishments That May Not Work.

How To Train Your Child: 7 Non-Corporal Punishments That May Not Work
How To Train Your Child: 7 Non-Corporal Punishments That May Not Work

When I was a school administrator, we tried to practice the new trend of non-corporal punishment. Take note of the word "tried". 😂 😂 😂

For about a year, we used a variety of disciplinary measures on the pupils but each time these measures backfired. How? Let me explain.

Below are 7 Non-Corporal Punishments That May Not Work:

1. Time Out

This worked to an extent especially for the littler ones. It was difficult getting them to sit in their time out chairs but with the aid of my thousand and one colourful scarves, I'd secure the toddler firmly in the chair and our time out session would begin. Now for the bigger children, this didn't work out well because giving a bigger child time out meant the child would miss out on part of the class as time out sessions were done in isolation. A lot of the older children didn't mind time out because they'd end up sleeping off or amusing themselves one way or another.

2. Taking Away Privileges

This one is pretty dicey especially in the school setting. What privileges are truly available to children in school apart from play time? Would it be fair to deny a child their lunch as punishment? Never. So what privilege can teacher withdraw from a pupil in a Nigerian setting? This form of punishment works best at home where parents can restrict usage of electronic devices.

3. Talking To The Child

😂 😂 😂 😂 Let me laugh first. You really want to try to reason with a tantrum throwing toddler? This can work for older children but certainly not for toddlers. Toddlers are explorers. Forget Dora the Explorer who has a set of rules she plays by. Explorers don't know how to follow the rules. With a lot of children, you'd say the same thing today, tomorrow, the day after and even the week after and they'd keep doing that particular thing either out of forgetfulness or defiance.

4. Shaming Bad Behaviour

Now this once caused a huge issue at the school because a teacher got tired of talking to a certain boy who refused to do his homework and got his classmates to sing "Shame shame shame shame!" to him. Lo and behold, after school he went and hit some of his classmates. He even used his water bottle on a child's mouth. The mothers of the hurt children were out to actually fight the mother of this boy if we hadn't calmed the situation. Now this boy's mother said we victimised her son by making his friends mock him. Toh! 😂 😂 😂

5. Praising Good Behaviour

Now I had stickers I gave out to children who did well every week in various aspects of school life, ranging from class work to playground ethics. I was accosted by a mother who asked why I hadn't rewarded her daughter any stickers. I explained the reward system to her but she wasn't having it at all. She said I was being partial, maybe because the parents of those children gave me gifts. I was angry o but I just smiled and said "If that's what you think, no problem ma." The next week, the child brought her homework for marking only for me to see that her mother had bought stickers and practically defaced her child's books while trying to overcompensate the child and to show me I wasn't the only one with access to stickers. Smh!

6. Reporting Directly to Parents

I'm not sorry to say this. The next generation would be filled with the worst kinds of humans thanks to lackadaisical and stupid parents. Yes, I used the word stupid because no other word qualifies what I've witnessed as a teacher and school Admin. Some nights I'd stay awake, thinking of certain children, wondering how they'd turn out if they continued as they were. You'd report a child to the parent especially mother and you'd hear stuff excuses such as, "She's a child. She will outgrow it."
"Ah! It's normal nau. That's what children do."
The worst are those that reply, "OK ma" only. Just know that all you said has been tossed into the Dead Sea. Smh!

7. No Contact Punishment

Pick pin. Sit on the air. Frog jump. Kneel down. Stand up. Stretch arms out. Close your eyes. Write a certain sentence 100 times.
We used all these and much more as ways of punishing pupils. Guess what? 😂 Mothers would come complaining to us that we want to disfigure their children with such punishments. A certain girl was told to write a sentence 50 times. She spent over 2 hours writing this statement until school ended. When her mother came to pick her up, she burst into tears and began screaming like we had killed her. 😂 😂 😂 Her mother got angry at the teacher for telling her daughter to write those sentences as punishment.

Summary

After a year of trying to be trendy with disciplinary measures in the school, I made an announcement that we were sticking to corporal punishment and any parent who wasn't comfortable with it could withdraw their children. None actually did. 😂 😂 😂 I kukuma started mentioning it during talks with parents of prospective pupils. If you don't like it, please be going. Thank you. Issnor by force.

Dear parents, if you don't want your children punished in school then ensure you raise them right. Because if teachers don't punish them while they're young and starting, life will eventually punish them at some point.

BEST UNLIMITED CHEAP CELL PHONE DATA PLANS IN THE US |  PREPAID AND POSTPAID CHEAP CELL PHONE DATA PLANS

As we all know data is a precious commodity these days especially when it comes to issues dealing with the internet. The cost of using mobile web services can get very high, and unlimited plans are scarce as we all know. Yet with multiple options available, you must be smart about picking the right one when it comes to choice making. However, factors such as pricing, signal and throttling caps tend to vary significantly as well.

Yes!!! that is the reason why I have come up with this post to will help you find the best unlimited data plans right here in the United States of America (USA). I have put together the best options you could find, so let jump straight right into the details right awayNote: Please take note that the prices listed below are for single lines only.

Postpaid options

T-Mobile
T-Mobile

T-Mobile - $95/month

T-Mobile has made a name for itself thanks to its unorthodox practices. T-Mobile is trying to shake up the market and bring more value to their precious customers in ways no other carrier presently available has done before. One main advantage of going with T-Mobile is unlimited data.

Why T-Mobile?

  • Unlimited data.
  • T-Mobile's highest-end personal unlimited plan costs $95 for a single line
  • You will get dropped off priority speeds (2G speeds) when you reach 23 GB of usage in a single month.
  • You also get free 2G roaming and texting in over 140 countries
  • unlimited calls in the USA/Mexico/Canada and discounted calls to other markets.
  • Unlimited plan subscribers are entitled to 14 GB of dedicated hotspot data added to their bucket.
  • T-Mobile also offers 2 GB, 6 GB and 10 GB options at lower prices.
  • T-Mobile also has Data Stash, which allows you to keep each month's unused 4G LTE data (up to 20 GB).
  • T-Mobile is easily one of your best bets when it comes to bang for your bucks.

Sprint
Sprint

Sprint - $75/month

Sprint has in fact gotten a lot of criticism due to its network, anyway there are plenty of markets with good coverage and awesome data speeds already available. If you happen to live in one of them, you could save some cash and go with the Now Network, lol.

Sprint unlimited plan is actually the cheapest out of the postpaid options on the list. Sprint subscribers are promised unlimited calls, text messages and data. Also just like T-Mobile, you will not be prioritized in speeds if you use anything over 23 GB of data in a month.

Why Sprint?

  • Subscribers get enough of cool bonuses for signing up with Sprint which includes 3 GB of hotspot data, unlimited texting/2G data in select markets outside of the USA and special call roaming discounts. Morealso you will also enjoy free calls/texts/2G data when in Mexico or Canada, as well as 1 GB of high-speed data when in said countries.
  • Another good thing abou sprint is the 40 GB per month plan, which also includes a whole year subscription for Amazon Prime, interesting, right?
AT&T
AT&T

AT&T - $100/month

AT&T is the priciest option in the list. AT&T does not seem to offer as much value as the others, but i thought it was worth mentioning anyway, ya.

Why AT&T

  • Only DIRECTV or U-verse subscribers can sign up for this unlimited plan.
  • It costs $100 and users get slowed down after 22 GB of usage in a billing cycle (1 GB less than what the other major carriers are offering).
  • When it comes to mobile usage, the only enticing perk is that you can talk, text and use data in the US, Canada and Mexico with no roaming fees.

Prepaid and MVNOs

Boost Mobile
Boost Mobile

Boost Mobile - $60/month

The big carriers are known to be dependable, but there are plenty of good choices on the prepaid side of things... especially if you are looking to save some cash. Boost Mobile's unlimited plan costs $60 per month, and you can reduce the monthly payment down to $55 if you opt for Auto Re-Boost (automatic card payments).

Why Boost Mobile?

  • Subscribers get unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE data, as well as 8 GB of hotspot data and unlimited music streaming with select partners.
  • Speeds are reduced when you exceed 23 GB of usage in a billing cycle, but only if the network needs it.
  • Just keep in mind Boost runs on Sprint's network, so make sure you have good coverage in your area.

MetroPCS
MetroPCS

MetroPCS - $60/month

So far, MetroPCS is the unlimited plan with the most generous fair data usage policy in the list. You can use up to 25 GB in a billing cycle without getting slowed down, wonderful!. But just like with some of the competitors, MetroPCS will only slow you down if the network demand is high.

Why MetroPCS?

  • MetroPCS charges $60 ($55 if you select a family plan) and offers unlimited high-speed data, talk and text, as well as unlimited music streaming with certain apps.
  • MetroPCS also offers an included 8 GB of hotspot usage with all plans.
  • All MetroPCS plans are technically unlimited - you only get pushed back to slower speeds when you reach the agreed data cap.
  • MetroPCS cheapest plan costs $30 and offers unlimited calls, texts and data (only the first gigabyte at 4G LTE speeds).

Cricket Wireless
Cricket Wireless

Cricket Wireless - $70/month

Just like with MetroPCS, all Cricket Wireless plans are unlimited. Subscribers simply pay extra if they want more high-speed data. The $70/month plan happens to be the one with unlimited high-speed data. And apparently, there are no penalties or slow-downs for using too much data!

Why Cricket Wireless?

  • With the Unlimited Plan, you'll receive a high-quality mobile experience from the start regardless of how much data you use.
  • As with all Cricket plans, download speeds are up to a maximum of 8 Mbps for compatible 4G LTE devices and 4 Mbps for compatible 4G devices. As always, actual speeds may vary by location and device.
  • Of course, you also get unlimited talk and text as well. Perks include unlimited international texting to 38 countries, as well as unlimited data/text/talk to and from the USA, Canada and Mexico. The only issue is you get no hotspot capabilities.
  • Oh, and if you set up Auto Pay you can save yourself $5 a month!

That is all about the data plan! Those are the most favourite unlimited data plans in the US. Are you signing up for any of these? Do you have any suggestions? Hit the comments to let us know.

Thanks and see you around soon.
